2012 ODD Sock
Giving Campaign

odd_sock_pic.jpg

It's The Urban's special giving campaign, an opportunity for outreach to help The Urban during the Lenten season.  As we think of slowly discarding our winter socks, what better time to think about what to do with all of those 'odd socks' we all have? At The Urban we know great things often come from humble beginnings... and like odd socks, we know we can make the most out of little.

Here's how you can participate: Collect your spare change in an odd sock (clean and without holes!) from now until the end of Lent.

Starting  March 18, 2012 until Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012 there will be Urban ‘laundry baskets’ circulating with your offering plates, in which to drop your odd socks.

Tax receipts are available for donations of $15 or more – just leave your info in your odd sock and it will be processed.

You can also just donate directly through your church or on this site.

Thank you for supporting the Urban!

ALL ODD SOCKS ARE WELCOME!

Who ARE WE?

We are volunteers who donate our  time and skills to help children and families in our community rise above circumstances into a world of hope. We serve those around us and share the love of Christ through word and deed.

Here is what people in the community are saying:

"The whole community is becoming a much better place to live because of the Urban.  We are getting to know each other and trust is developing"

"The Urban provides a safe place for us to go in the evening"

"It is such a joy to have somewhere to go where we do not have to line up.  There is so much to be said for the fact that we are served at tables three times a week.  We feel human."

"No matter what, we know that we are loved and cared for"

"The Urban is a safe haven to many"

"Eating at the Urban stretches our family's food budget a whole lot"

"This is our Church"
